Today, I had to get another ultrasound because my OB and his med student thought Josh was transverse. (Of course, I told him he's head down, but he didn't believe me because I'm not a doctor. :P)
Anyway, Josh is indeed head down, and facing my left. His heart is 156bpm and his estimated weight is 6lbs 7oz, which is at the 43rd percentile for his gestational age. He is not engaged yet, so I guess there are still a few more weeks to fatten him up (if the estimation is correct).
The sonographer said he has a lot of hair. I also saw his cute button nose. :o)

The pictorals

The crib, which is in our room right now. I didn't put in the crib sheets yet. The thing hanging over the edge of the crib is actually the valence for above the window. We still need to buy a rod.

Close up of the quilt. It's so soft!!

The dresser in Josh's room with diaper changing pad. I didn't put the diaper change pad cover on it yet so I draped his new fleecy blanket over the change pad. It was a freebie from the ebay seller because of the trouble she had with FedEx.

The diaper stacker! (Empty right now)
Thanks Daddy, for picking out my crib set, says Josh.
Crib Sheets!
After more than a month of hassles, we have finally received the crib sheets for J's bed. It came from someone on eBay located in Georgia who seemed to have a lot of bad luck with FedEx. At least through all the hassles, we got a bonus item! The bed skirt, valence, quilt, blanket and mobile are all very cute. Duckie has washed them last night and I am looking forward to having it all assembled on the bed.
Speaking of the crib, I was able to contact Mother Hubbard's Cupboards and get the screw problem resolved. I had a problem securing the top part of the side rail to the headboard. Turns out the nut that holds the screw is actually adjustable. Thanks to Sam (one of the owners) for his help sorting it out (he had to check with his foreman in the workshop).

Crib and Dresser
Last week, we went to Mother Hubbard's Cupboards in the hopes that we can pick up both the dresser and the crib. Unfortunately, we could only fit the dresser in the back of the RD-X because it is pre-assembled and solid wood. Luckily, the owners (Brett and Sam) were able to help us by delivering the crib to us because there was no way of fitting the headboard in the back of our truck.
We had to put together the crib and it only took about two hours. The directions were a bit difficult but thankfully it was a really simple to assemble. Duckie even helped out, making the work a breeze.

Baby Shower
Baby shower means one thing - it's almost time for Josh to arrive!!!
Thank you so much Auntie Jeannie, for throwing my shower today. :) Josh got lots of gifts, thanks to the generosity of our friends and family. Tim and I are really lucky to have such great friends and family. Once our crib has been picked up and assembled, I will take a pic of all of Josh's gifts, and his new room. I can't believe he'll be here in ~6 weeks.

The yummy food and favours.

Me and Auntie Jeannie. We look like twins! Jeans, brown v-neck top, and gold earrings! (Except I'm a lot fatter than she is, LOL.)

Diaper Covers
When I first got pregnant, Tim and I decided to use cloth diapers for Josh. We'll probably pick up a pack of disposables for the hospital, and then start using a service for the first few months, just to get the hang of it. Then, if we feel up to it, we will purchase our own diapers and wash them ourselves. We may not cloth diaper him 100% of the time (it will probably be a hassle on vacation), but we want to try as much as we can.
The services here only provide Chinese Prefolds (flat diapers that are more absorbant in the middle), and we need to have covers to go over them, so today, we went to Diaper-Eez in Bloor West Village to pick up some accessories.
We got 4 diaper covers, and 2 snappis (that will go over the prefold). I'm so excited to see Josh in them! Here's a pic of one of the covers we got.

32 weeks
Today, we went for our third trimester ultrasound. Josh is measuring at the 50th percentile, right in the middle. His estimated weight is 4lbs 5oz. He is still head down, which means he's "in position" for birth. Unfortunately, he was facing me, so we weren't able to get a good shot of his face. But the sonographer pointed out his chubby cheeks (just like his Daddy). We also saw his lung movements so he has been practicing his "breathing". :) I asked if she could confirm that Josh is indeed a boy, but she said it was too cramped in there to tell (no kidding).

Sick
Mommy has been sick all week and kept up all night with her congestion and sore throat. According to the experts, the cold is not passed on from the mother to the infant but I sure hope that she will be okay soon. She has not been getting enough sleep because she has to blow her nose all the time. The frustration is also not helping the situation, I am sure.
Get well soon....
Love,
J. & T.
