Shoes
Grandma bought him some Chinese flash cards from Hong Kong. I was showing him the shoes one today and the following conversation transpired.
Me: Hai zi!
J: nononono. Shoes!

Hot Sauce
Josh learned to say hot sauce today.
One of his favourite things to do is to get us to open up the fridge, so he can examine all the condiments inside. He loves picking up the tabasco sauce.
Me: That's hot sauce.
J: Hot sauce! (except it sounds like "ot suss")
Me: Don't put it in your mouth, or else you'll get an ouch. (He knows to say ouch when something hurts.)
J: *examines the bottle* Hot sauce!
*puts bottle to his face*
J: cold!
*perplexed look, because clearly, the bottle is not hot!*
